Jumbo Electronics brings to you another value addition to ensure the safety and security of your purchase. All individual items with the invoice value of AED 250/- or more purchased from any Jumbo retail store in the UAE will be protected againt the risks specified below.

 Jumbo offers you this security without paying anything extra. Your purchase is automatically secure against unintentional damage to the product due to:

i ) Fire to dwelling house / office / car.

ii ) Riot or strike ( as recognized by local police)

iii ) Theft ( by forcible and violent cause from a premises or taking away by snatching or by violence threat or assault )

iv ) Accidental damage due to visible, external and fortuitous circumstance beyond your control ( excluding specifically any damage caused by any liquid)

All you need to do is ensure that you exercise reasonable and prudent care at all times to protect and safeguard the item you purchased.

Please note that the above product protection is applicable only for loss / damage within the United Arab Emirates.

 Territorial and time restriction

Your product protection is valid for:

i ) One calander year from the date of purchase.

ii ) Damage or loss within UAE.

  What does the product protection offer you?

With Jumbo product protection you receive a credit note (refer point 10 for amount and conditions) in case of loss or total damage to the product and for repair costs (subject to deductible as detailed in point 8). This does NOT entitle you to receive cash or like-to-like replacements of any product.

  Can product protection benefit be claimed without producing the orginal cash memo?

No. We insist that you provide us with the original cash memo with all the details clearly readable as it is a must to process your claim.

 Is there any time limit for the claim?

Yes. You must apply for your lost product within 30 days from the date of damage or loss.

  How do I avail the claim in case of loss due to perils covered?

All you need to do is to contact the nearest Jumbo retail store along with the original invoice and filled up claim form. You will have to bring along the original police report to support the claim for theft. In case of loss due to fire or accident, the claim should be supported by a report from the concerned Civil Defence Department.

 How do I get my product's value back in case of damage?

All you need to do is contact the Jumbo Service Centre in your Emirate and fill up the claim form. In case of damage due to an accident, riot, fire hazard etc., your claim should be supported with original police report or a report from the concerned Civil Defence Department. The Service Centre will prepare the assessment of the expense involved in repair.

 Do I have to pay any amount?

Yes. In case of repair, a normal deductible would be charged as per the table below.

Jumbo Service Centre would make the assessment of expense required.

For example, an item worth AED 2000/- is to be repaired under this scheme. Jumbo Services centre has estimated an expense of AED 500/- on the same. In this case, you will be charged only a deductible amount AED 100/-.

 What if the item is lost or is not in a condition that can be repaired?

In case of theft or damage that is beyond repair (to be certified by Jumbo Service Centre after evaluation), you will be issued a credit note which can be redeemed at any Jumbo Electronics Retail Store. The amount on the credit note would be derived at after considering the depreciation as detailed below:

Please note that in case of damage beyond repair, Jumbo Service Centre would assess and certify the same. You will have to surrender the product in case of total loss by fire or theft; a police report shall have to be produced to substantiate the claim. Claims shall be sttled applying deductible / depreciation on purchase cost / market value at the time of the loss, whichever is lower.

 In case of a claim on mobile phones, would the sim cards also be covered?

No. SIM cards are not covered under the scheme. Please also note that in case of theft claim for mobile phone, you will have to cancel the SIM and submit the certificate from telecom service provider, Etisalat or du for the same.

 Can I claim multiple claims?

Yes. But only up to the limit of the total cost of the product under Jumbo product protection items. Hence the product may be replaced only once but can be repaired multiple times and protection would be applicable only till the sum of all repairs during the period is equal to the price at which the item was purchased.

 Would the item purchased using a credit note (issued in cae of total loss or theft) be protected?

No. It would not be.

 What are the cases or events excluded from the protection scheme?

a ) Any malfunction covered under the manufacturer's warranty.

b ) Loss or damage outside the geographical limits of the United Arab Emirates.

c ) Any consequence arising from war, war like operation (whether war is declared of not), act of foreign enemy, hostilities, civil war, rebellion, civil commotion, military usurped power or seizure.

d ) Any legal liability of whatsoever nature directly or indirectly caused by or contributed to by or arising from ionizing radioactive or contamination by radio activity from any nuclear waste from combustion of nuclear fuel.

e ) Any loss, destruction, damage or legal liability directly or indirectly caused by or contributed to by or arising from nuclear weapon materials or due to radioactive contamination.

f ) Theft, loss or damage to the unit left in an unattended vehicle, unless the vehicle is completely locked with all the doors, windows and other opening fully secured. There must be an evidence to show forcible break-in on the vehicle, duly supported by a police report stating physical evidence of break-in on the vehicle.

g ) For the items damaged, whilst carried in a vehicle, the police report must show that the vehicle was involved in an accident or a certification to this effect from vehicle insurers should be submitted.

h ) Intentional act or willful neglect, overloading of the instrument or experiments or an attempted self-repair.

i ) Normal wear and tear, atmospheric or climatic conditions, moisture and sweat damage, gradual deterioration, inherent defects or loss or damage caused due to cleaning, repairing or renovating the instrument or due to short-circuiting, arcing, over-heating or over-charging.

j ) Confiscation by any Government authority.

k ) Any kind of consequential loss.

l ) Hiring or lending to any other person.

m ) Mysterious disappearance including leaving un-attended, even for a short period, forgetting to pickup and leaving in a car / taxi / bus or any other public transport.

n ) Loss or damage to software.

o ) Damage caused by any liquid chemical.

p ) Damage caused due to earthquake, floods, heavy rain, tempest, storms, hurricanes and such similar events of nature induced man destruction.

q ) Loss or damage arising / discovered after one year from the date of purchase.
