Jumbo Electronics Expands Its International Brand Network With Gorenje Deal

• Jumbo becomes exclusive distributor of European household appliance manufacturer in UAE and Oman

05 October, 2009 - Dubai, United Arab Emirates: As part of the ongoing expansion of its international brand network, Jumbo Electronics, the UAE’s largest consumer electronics company, has signed a contract with Gorenje for exclusive distribution rights of its products in the UAE and Oman. Gorenje is one of Europe’s top eight manufacturers of household appliances.

The deal, which represents 20-25 per cent of all Gorenje sales across the Middle East, gives Jumbo Electronics the right to sell selected Gorenje branded products at its 30 retail shops across the UAE, and exclusive distribution rights across Jumbo’s wider business network in the UAE and Oman. All Gorenje product categories – including cookers, fridges, freezers, ovens, hobs & hoods, washing machines and tumble dryers – will soon become available in Jumbo stores and other retail outlets across the Jumbo distribution network.

As the only company that maintains fully-fledged service centres in each of the seven emirates, Jumbo Electronics will also be providing exclusive after-sales support for Gorenje products.

Dedicated dealer conventions will be used to introduce the new products to business partners and enhance Gorenje’s market base in the region; with in-store activities and customer promotions helping to introduce Gorenje products to local customers.

Gorenje is a large European household appliance company based in Slovenia. The company sells 80% of its products under its own brands in more than 70 countries and is well known for its cooperation with renowned designers Karim Rashid, Pininfarina and Ora-Ϊto. In 2006, Gorenje established Gorenje Gulf in Dubai to act as the direct business contact with its local partners.
